The pandemic has cause internal and external factors to elevate undo stress on our communities and as a result we have seen a rise in mental health issues among youth, teens, and adults. The Community Development YMCA offers outreach and education on mental health and provides prevention services to the greater Long Beach community. By offering in-person or virtual classes on mental health issues, parenting, and stress management for families, adults and staff. Classes are taught in English, Spanish and Khmer by culturally sensitive staff who represent our diverse communities.
Classes offered:
• Youth Mental Health First Aid Classes - for parents with youth or adults/staff who work with youth.
• Adult Mental Health First Aid Classes - for parents/adults/staff to assist their peers in crisis.
