SUMMER DAY CAMP 2026
Make this summer unforgettable at the Lakewood Family YMCA! Our Summer Day Camps run for 10 exciting weeks, following the Long Beach Unified School District summer break calendar, and offer children a fun, safe, and enriching place to spend their days once the school bell rings and summer begins.
We provide full-day camps designed to support working families while giving kids the chance to thrive. Campers entering TK through 8th grade can choose from a variety of camp options tailored to different ages and interests. Each program focuses on play, teamwork, creativity, and confidence-building, helping children grow socially and emotionally while having a blast.
At the Lakewood Family YMCA, safety and belonging come first. Our trained staff create a welcoming environment where kids can make friends, try new activities, and build lifelong skills through games, group challenges, and hands-on experiences. Whether your child is exploring new interests or returning for another summer of fun, our camps offer a place to learn, grow, and feel right at home.

- What items should my camper bring to camp each day?
Please send your camper with a packed lunch, snacks, a refillable water bottle, sunscreen, a hat, and closed toed shoes. Sandals, crocs, and slippers are not allowed.
- Can my camper switch from Specialty Camp to Traditional Camp during the week?
Campers cannot switch from one camp to the other once the week has started. Changes to any week of camp must be done before the start of the week in question. Once the change has been confirmed in writing by the Program Director or Manager, the camper may sign in to the desired camp.
- Can I request that my camper be in the same group as their friends?
Our camp groups are determined by grade the camper will be entering in the fall. As long as they are in the same grade(s), they will be in the same camp group. Please refer to the "Traditional Camp" drop down button above.
- How do I cancel a week of camp?
Camp can be cancelled by emailing the Camp Director at aiko.lopez@LBymca.org or filling out a cancellation form in person at our Welcome Center at least 7 days before the camp week starts to avoid the charge from processing.
Please note that deposits are non-refundable.

Pre-camp emails will be sent on the Thursday before the start of each camp week.
